Our Story
Some companies are built from a business plan. RuVal Inc. was built from a life's work.
Rubin Cuffee spent more than four decades at the intersection of two worlds most people keep separate: the corporate boardroom and the church sanctuary. He managed multimillion-dollar portfolios at Lockheed Martin, earned the company's prestigious NOVA Award for leading teams that consistently exceeded expectations, and held senior roles at IBM. He also spent 25 years as a church Trustee and Board Chairman, overseeing the construction of a 65,000-square-foot facility, guiding a congregation through COVID-19, and co-authoring the governing documents that shaped the institution for generations.
Those two worlds taught him the same lesson in different languages: most people and organizations are sitting on more potential than they know. They just need the right partner to help them unlock it.
That insight became RuVal Inc.
Named for Rubin and his wife Valerie, the company was built on a simple conviction. Professional-level consulting, coaching, and leadership development should not be reserved for Fortune 500 companies. Individuals facing a major crossroads deserve expert guidance. Small businesses navigating growth deserve a strategic partner. Faith communities managing operations, transitions, and outreach deserve someone who understands both ministry and management.
That someone is Rubin.
He is a Certified Church Consultant, a Certified Competent Coach, and a John Maxwell Leadership Coach. He is the author of Discovering Your Next Pastor: Leveraging Faith and Technology, a practical guide for congregations navigating one of the most significant transitions a church can face. He is also the founder and producer of Living Among Greatness, a short-form documentary series honoring unsung heroes in the African American community.
But what matters most is not the resume. It is the reason.
Rubin built RuVal Inc. to serve. To bring the expertise he spent a career developing into the rooms where it is needed most. To sit across the table from a pastor who is overwhelmed, a small business owner who is stuck, or an individual who is unsure of their next step, and say: I have been there. I can help. Let's build something together.
